Our head wrestling coach, Gary Jones, has been wrestling since he was about 10 Born in New Jersey he moved to Sydney after completing a life guard exchange programme in 2004. Gary competed regularly at state level while in the US and would generally finish top 3 or top 5 Throughout high school he won approximately 80 competition matches and throughout his career has competed in over 500 competition level matches. For three years running he managed at least a top 12 finish in a division of over 400 competitors and his high school team finished top 5 in the state. Gary attended college at the College of New Jersey and competed all over the US as part of his collegiate career with a top 8 ranking within the US for division 3 colleges. His team result included a top 5 finish. He has wrestled competitively against many people who are now well known within MMA circles including Frankie Edgar. Gary loves wrestling competitively for the discipline, work ethic and self competitive aspects of the sport. His love of the sport also extends to coaching where he takes great personal pride in helping people improve, sharing his knowledge and to put something back into a sport he has gained so much from Langes is very proud to be offer our students this world class level of coaching, particularly as good wreslting coaches in Australia are very very rare |
