Troy Te Ao started learning martial arts from a young age, like all 12 year olds he wanted to be a Ninja so he could disappear in a cloud of smoke while fighting 300 other heavily armed bad guys.

He studied Ninjitsu from age 12 for about 18 months and then moved onto Kickboxing.

He has been studying Kickboxing/Muay Thai on and off since age 14 and has been involved in many amateur competitions and demonstration fights.

A serious ankle injury at age 20 took him away from all forms of exercise for close to year.

Once healed Troy started weightlifting and also took up Wing Chung for about two years.

Troy then started learning MMA and BJJ about 6 years ago and has never looked back.

Troy holds a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is one of our best Mixed Martial Arts coaches with a strong emphasis on strength and conditioning. If you want to work up a sweat try Troy's conditioning classes.

He leads by example and trains two or three hours a day six days week using a combination of weight training, jogging, yoga and of course MMA and BJJ.

Troy recently won his first professional fight in under two minutes

He heads up our instructors at our Warriewood Gym and plans to continue fighting professionally.
